Our number, with its source attached
The 90+ trace-mineral figure for the Balanced 88 Gold Sodium™ mineral sea salt comes from the producer's published mineral analysis; it is not an independently verified count, and trace minerals occur in very small amounts at an 88mg sodium serving.
We state it that way on purpose. A mineral count is a supplier analysis, not an independent audit, and any brand quoting one without saying where it came from is asking you to take marketing on faith.
What trace minerals do and do not do
Trace minerals are present in genuinely tiny amounts at an 88mg sodium serving. They speak to the character and origin of the salt, not to a measurable health effect, and we will not claim otherwise.
A higher count is not automatically better hydration. What matters far more is the total sodium dose and whether it matches the hour you are drinking in.
Why we do not run count-versus-count comparisons
Competing counts come from different labs, different methods, and different detection limits, so lining them up side by side produces a comparison that looks precise and means very little. We publish our own figure with its source and leave the scoreboard alone.
Frequently asked
- How many trace minerals are in Hydrate Heroes®?
- The 90+ trace-mineral figure for the Balanced 88 Gold Sodium™ mineral sea salt comes from the producer's published mineral analysis; it is not an independently verified count, and trace minerals occur in very small amounts at an 88mg sodium serving.
- Do trace minerals improve hydration?
- There is no basis to claim they do at these amounts. Sodium, potassium, and magnesium in the right proportions drive absorption; trace minerals describe the salt's origin, not a measurable benefit.
- Is a higher mineral count better?
- No. Counts vary with testing method and detection limit, and the quantities involved are extremely small. The dose that matters is the sodium dose.
